This lot features a factory sealed spam can of 7.62 caliber ammunition of Soviet or Eastern Bloc origin. While offered as a sealed container of unknown caliber and quantity, the stenciled Cyrillic markings clearly identify the contents as 7.62x54R, a cartridge used in the Mosin-Nagant and various military firearms. The lid is prominently stenciled with the designation 7,62 ??? ??. The ??? (LPS) indicates a light bullet with a steel core, and ?? (GZh) signifies a bimetallic or gilded iron case. Additional marks include the production lot ?26-118 and the propellant information ?? 7/74-47, which identifies the year of manufacture as 1974, along with a smaller stenciled numeral 12.
