The Smith & Wesson Model 1500 in .243 Win is a discontinued (circa 1984) Japanese-made bolt-action rifle manufactured by Howa. Known for quality, it features a Mauser-type action, Glossy Walnut stock, 5rnd internal box magazine, and is often regarded as a reliable, accurate hunting rifle with mild recoil. It has a beautiful blued finish on its barrel and receiver. Originally produced by Howa Machinery, Ltd. in Japan for Smith & Wesson until they started making the 1500 under the Howa name. It is also known for a very smooth action. It also has a Burris Trophy 3-9x40mm scope with DOA reticle and 1” rings. Please see photos.
