C-18848 c. 1940s/1950s; American Flyer Manufacturing Co. - Chicago, IL Mixed American Flyer O-gauge train grouping consisting of a black steam locomotive with tender, a red caboose, a green tanker car, a yellow-and-green boxcar, a brown Pennsylvania gondola, and a green open freight car. The lot also includes multiple curved sections of original metal track. All pieces display stamped metal construction with lithographed and painted details typical of mid-century American Flyer production. American Flyer trains of this period were produced in Chicago prior to the company's postwar transition to S-gauge under A. C. Gilbert.
