This Waffenfabrik Mauser manufactured C96 Military “Red 9” was a WWI Imperial German Army Contract pistol, was produced somewhere within its contract dates between 1916-1918 in Caliber 9mm Luger (Reason for the “Red 9” carved and painted in the grips, so as nobody accidentally tried to load the “usual” .30 Mauser (7.63mm). It is loaded via stripper clip into its fixed internal 10rnd magazine. There were 150,000 were ordered but only 137,000-140,000 units total were produced. It features a slotted and lugged backstrap for its wooden holster/shoulder stock and a lanyard ring at the butt, consistent with its military-issue configuration. The markings are strong...
