Lot of Two Very Early Marine Corps Buttons to include 1) Front Coat Button with Eagle and Anchor with 13 Stars. Here is a button that you don't see offered very often! It is an original early 1-piece U.S. Marine coat button. This is the pattern that is listed as the NA87 in Albert's button book. It has the Union eagle in the center of the button with the anchor down below . Around the edge of the button it has the 13 stars on the lined background. On the reverse of the button it has the "A.W. SPIES / FOR SEA SERVICE / IM / GILT" backmark still vividly visible. This is the maker's mark of the firm of The firm of A.W.
